DescriptionRussian icon. Part of a series of icons probably consisting of 12 panels. The silver frame is broader on the bottom with varying shades of blue and green enamel decoration. The majority of the background is gold with brief interjections of starry night sky in the UL corner and through Christ's mandorla. Three rocky pinnacles, pale orange, white and grey protrude into the sky. Atop each of these stand the figures of Elias, Christ and Moses (respectively from L to R). Red rays of light extend from Christ to Peter, James and John below, who fall to the ground in homage. [see cataloguer's comments]
