DescriptionRussian icon. In the centre Mary sits in the uppermost tier of a fountain with Christ in her lap. She is flanked by angels dressed in red. Each one stands on an olive-coloured cloud and holds a small circle with inscribed letters. Beneath her the water of the fountain is a brownish colour. The fountain itself is red. Motionless royal figures stand behind the pool. Those in front are positioned in a diverse array of poses; however, everyone is holding a cup from which they drink of the fountain's water.Collections
