DescriptionThe virgin is shown with three hands. The riza covers the entire panel while small openings only reveal the three hands of the Virgin, Christ's hands and face, and Mary's face. Beneath the riza, the panel is full painted with an orange border and darkgreen background. Mary and the Christ child are shown in the Hodegetria pose with Christ on Mary's right arm instead of her left. Mary is wearing dark green robes with a dark red mantle and Christ wears an orange garment. Their halos are a light ochre colour. The presence of a third hand is not immediately apparent. The details on the riza directly emulate that of the panel beneath and is decorated with floral motifs. [see cataloguer's comments]
