DescriptionFired clay hand-formed shallow "cornuto" bowl with a high looped handle with two upraised "horns", flaring rim and concave base. Covered with light beige slip and horizontal stripes in black (much worn) on the sides of the bowl and rim, with decoration on exterior base in form of triple-lined cross in centre of a circle bounded by series of double striped triangles (star type pattern). Probably from southeastern Italy, of subgeometric Daunian II date, ca. 550-400 BC.Collections
