(Benezit) Vergé-Sarrat, Henri French , 20th century , male . Born 1880 , in Anderlecht, Belgium ; died 1966 . Painter , watercolourist , engraver . Landscapes . self-taught. He was a watercolourist and painted scenes of North Africa and landscapes of France using sharp colours in a very personal way. He was a precise observer of nature yet his work contained elements of Cubism. He exhibited in Paris regularly at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Tuileries
